God calls us not only to pray for people but with people. Matthew 18:19 says that "if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven." We have a promise connected to praying with another person-answered prayer. Part of the reason is because when we agree in prayer we obey a scriptural command; we fulfill a responsibility; we express love for others; we put faith into action; we bear the burdens of others; we help to deliver others from sin and we grow in all of these areas ourselves. A person's prayer life can be transformed when he or she intercedes with others as well as for others. Grab hold of this intimate connection with God and your fellow believers. Your prayer life will never be the same!
